Another factor may be the door weight. Apparently the door isn't that much heavier on the 1975. I have the 1975 and have never regretted it. Especially given that cost difference isn't that much. Side note. I have a Weber Mastertouch 22". Almost every time I use it, I wish I would have paid a little extra and gotten the 26".

I reached out to them and was able to arrange to go by today to see them up close and show my wife. Seeing the entire family together was really helpful and allowed us to figure out what could fit.
